"Coconut oil? Won't that make me fat? Isn't it unhealthy?"
Friend, this is a fine little giveaway that can actually help out your grocery budget for a month and possibly slenderize your waistline!
I absolutely LOVE coconut oil.
Let me tell you how I use it. This is NOT an endorsement for you to use it in such a way. In fact, I chose to do these things on my volition . . . some of these are MY ideas and others were suggested to me by my friends. They are NOT scientific facts, NOR are they endorsed by Tropical Traditions.
Don't you love how overly honest I have to be about this? (Thanks new FTC laws for bloggers.)
(Note: I even used coconut oil this way before Tropical Traditions sent me a free sample to review.
And here is another Disclaimer: Tropical Traditions provided me with a free sample of this product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review or sponsor a product giveaway in return for the free product.)
That said, I have tried other coconut oils and hands down, Tropical Traditions is my favorite. I HAVE to have it in my pantry! In fact, it has a permanent home on the kitchen counter top next to my Vita Mix and compost bucket!)
- lathered on top of toast
- a dollop in a smoothie
- to coat the pan when making cheese eggs, omelets, or sauteed veggies
- to lubricate a sore baby bottom painted with a diaper rash
- to soften, clean, and heal a flesh wound
- to moisturize my dry face in the winter
- mixed in with fresh fruit
- in lieu of butter when I make whole wheat bread or other baked items
- as one of two oils in my homemade granola
- a spoonful to ward off sickness
- a spoonful when we are sick to heal quicker
- for dessert when mixed with peanut butter, cocoa and honey
- simply every day because it supports my thyroid and weight loss

Love Coconut oil. Have used it for over 16 years and it's absolutely amazing. It makes eggs and pancakes taste beautiful and the benefits on our skin and within our body are amazing! So glad you get info out to people who many not know this already.
I watched the video. Really interesting. I learned that this coconut oil is processed by hand, the traditional way in the Philippines. Sounds great! Hope I win it!

I have been wanting to try this brand, we currently use Nutiva. We LOVE Coconut Oil around here!!! It's the only thing that has helped with Ladybug's dry skin!

TT makes the VCO from the milk by separating it. They also are providing for the locals by having them work for them with a job that the Filipinos have been doing for years!

It's amazing to me that the oil is hand-processed without machinery. I love that small farmers are being supported this way.
I would love to try a recipe with coconut flour...maybe the biscuits.
I have been using coconut oil for a couple of years in cooking and baking, using a different brand, though. Yesterday I went to TT's website and placed my first order, signed up for their newsletter and signed up for their blog. I am going to try the Coffee Heaven recipe (ordered the coconut cream concentrate for this). I'll have my coffee and health together. LOL

I watched the video. Very neat to see how the coconuts are hand-processed from picking through final product. I learned how coconuts are grated, and then how the oil separates from the milk. Thank you for offering this give-a-way! :-)
Would love to try the GF Chocolate Chip Banana Coconut Muffin recipe! Will have to wait until I'm able to purchase coconut oil! :-)
I signed up for the newsletter! :)
I enjoyed watching the video. I have used Nutiva brand, but have not yet tried tropical traditions. I didn't know they are the only one that hand makes it and the rest machines. If I don't win I will have to try this brand for sure--sounds superior! :)

I’m a avid fan of MeritVCO extra virgin coconut oil.
I use it for moisturizing my skin after taking a shower.
It leaves my skin soft and supple. I also use it to condition and moisturize my hair. Virgin coconut oil also makes an excellent addition to a fruit
smoothie or protein drink
The author of www.granolamom4god.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: Big turds are both a blessing and a curse. Despite the initial discomfort, you feel immensely proud of it, only to realise that it would never be right to share this with anyone. The intensity of the pride/shame dilemma is in direct proportion to how much is above water. Thanks for the info.
