P90X -- 90 Days to Get Fit

I remember that the one goal that motivated me during labor and delivery was the end result . . . a baby. Each contraction or "hug" brought me one step closer to meeting our son. As each muscle tightened and pushed down, I knew that there was one less squeeze. One down . . . a few more to go. I had a precious goal person that I was excited to meet. I could always keep working in order to meet that baby.

Well . . . three precious goals.

Mr. Smackdown . . . Mr. Me-Too . . . and Mr. Smiley.

They were worth the work. They were worth the discomfort. Their births were each unique and special, and worth every calorie of the self-control, focused relaxing, and engagement with the raw process.

I loved giving birth. I don't really want to relive their births . . . but I enjoy remembering these very human experiences.

I am going to embark on a new birth. And no, I am not pregnant. Another story for another day.

We eat well . . . organic, no white sugar or flour, take our cod-liver oil, ingest fermented food along with some additional probiotics . . . yada yada yada. But there is one thing I don't do well.

Exercise.

A re-birth of the old Granola Mom that bears witness to 3 childbirths to a new Granola Mom 4 God who wants to glorify God in my body . . . and keep up with the Hottie Hubby on the slopes . . . and run around with my increasingly active munchkins.

I compare the birth process to my new endeavor which I think could potentially be more painful than childbirth . . . but gratifying. I have a goal. At least this goal won't pee on me . . . I hope. I won't attain my goal in 16 hours of continuous labor. We are talking 90 days . . . and then a lifetime of maintaining my fitness.

Want to know what I am going to do? It's coming in my mailbox really soon. Ultimate Fitness Gear is sending me the P90X Workout. Here is a sneak peak of the workouts that I am going to be doing. Yahoo! I sooooo think that the Hottie Hubby is going to be stoked about this!

I've heard great things about this... hope you like it!! It's so hard to find time, it seems like, to really exercise with the kiddos around. I'm still trying to figure out how to work it back in...but I love that Jordan has worked back into a disciplined routine. THat helps motivate me!

Yay! I LOVE working out (something of a junkie!)...the only downside is finding the time to do it. I know you can persevere, Jodi!

its a fabulous program. Yes, its tough to find time but it is worth it. And yes, it IS extreme. But the results will come. I am on my second round of it and love it.

OH! I am SOOO interested to see you do this! I am curious about the program myself and think possibly Gerrad would be more interested in this than the program I am currently working out to. :) (yes, I know you think she is strange, but it is working for me right now) You have some great goals to reach...I know you CAN do it!

And hmmmm, I am interested in your "another story for another day" thoughts! :)
