Moolala: A Win Win Situation

I wasn’t going to post today . . .

My blog and I are at odds right now . . . it wants me to write, but I don’t want to write.

I don’t have writers block.

It’s just that gardening season has begun.  I have worms, seeds and dirt on my brain.  (And my child had somewhat emergency surgery yesterday.)

But I have begun to really enjoy finding bargains.  Probably because I spent all of my money on seeds.  (And we just paid for a somewhat emergency surgery yesterday.)

Like the other day, I spent $2 on a Redbox deal but instead of just receiving coupons for 2 free movies . . . try 6.

Bargain.

And now, thanks to a bunch of my bloggy friends tweeting yesterday and today . . . I’ve discovered Moolala.

It is a win win situation.

You get a potential deal – like the Target Dollar Bins or jeans at Goodwill for $4 that would cost $50 or a $20 Amazon card for $10 or a free dog (not really).

BUT you get ONE deal in your inbox a day . . . read it or delete it or buy it.

Here is the beauty.

You sign up your friends.  (Well, they sign up because you encouraged them to.)  When they purchase the deal, you get paid.  Let’s say, your best friend then signs up someone and that person buys the same deal, you get paid and your best friend gets paid and that friend that you have only seen a picture of gets a sweet deal.

Yes, it is a lot like the pyramid scheme.  But it’s free.

Moolala.  Sign up.  Yes, I just might get paid if you use my link.  But then if someone uses your link, then you will get paid.  Viral marketing baby.  I’m not ashamed of it.

I simply like to earn a little bit of cash so that when I buy my husband a present, I can say that I paid for it.  (Even though our money is the same.)

Still.

Go to Moolala.  Then you can make some Moolala.

Today’s deal . . . which I am going to purchase . . . because I have YET (insert cough) to get Gabe’s First Year Baby book made.

Purchase the Mixbook for $10 and get $50 worth of photo books, baby announcements, baby books and more.

Perhaps this will be the push I needed.  His birthday . . . 3rd birthday is just around the corner.

Wordless Wednesday: Invited to Tea

I was recently invited to a tea party.

Blessed to be the guest of honor along with the cast from Toy Story and other well loved animals.  (Animals that we are surmising often leave the basement a mess because certainly my sons wouldn’t do such a thing.)

002

Our imaginary friends happened to be using the trampoline as their table.

But I didn’t mention that to my hosts.

What’s your favorite tea?

I had TAZO Awake this morning.  But my favorite is Azercay.

The Key to the Kingdom: A Review

image It’s official . . . a first . . . I just read a “vacation” book by a man.

Normally the books I classify as “vacation fiction” are by females.  Said books probably fall under the category of Christian Historical Fiction.

Not this one.

Fiction.  Disney.  Action.  Adventure.  Mystery.  Suspense.

I must admit that this is one book you can’t judge by its cover.  I like a good cover.  Something that I’m proud to have sitting beside my bed.

I certainly wasn’t embarrassed for the Hottie to glance over at my novel, but to be honest, I didn’t want to peek at my book pile.

And considering that I am slightly anti-Disney . . . I was skeptical that I would totally enjoy this book.

I was PLEASANTLY surprised.  I deeply enjoyed going on a scavenger hunt through Disney World without paying the ludicrous price of a ticket . . . umm . . . six tickets.

To be honest, the book kind of made me want to forget my Disney boycott and take my kids on a lavish Kingdom tour.

The Key to the Kingdom ($12.47 on Amazon), by Jeff Dixon, is about pastor Grayson Hawkes.  On his quest to become a better storyteller in order to engage his parishioners with the greatest story of all, the Bible, Hawk finds himself as the lead character in a story that could only occur in the magical kingdom.

Hawk  had no idea that his friendship with Farren Rales, friend to Walk Disney himself, would change his life.

Great “vacation read.”  An even better story if you are a Disney fan!

Want to know more?  Find The Key to the Kingdom on Facebook, Twitter, or the Kingdom website.  You might need a key to get into the sites, though.

Just kiddin’.

This is a Mama Buzz review. The product was provided by Bring it on Communications in partnership with Deep River Books for this review."

The So Dialogues

The conversation always seems harmless enough.

It begins with us meeting over coffee at Starbucks, or you coming to my house for chai, or even dinner with our spouses and offspring.

In that case, we do our best to overwhelm you.

If we have reached dessert and you haven’t heard, “Soooooooo . . . .” from me, you just might think that you have escaped.

Then there is silence.

A perfect time for me to inject, “Soooooooo . . . what was the best and worst part of your week?”

  • Have you read any good books?
  • Tell me something new that you have learned.
  • If you could be a toilet or a trashcan, which would you be?
  • How did you meet?
  • What is your favorite music?
  • Do you like U2?

Questions.

I ask a lot of questions.  Probably about as many questions as …….. (dots) that you see on my blog.

(Whenever you see the …….. (dots) realize that it really reflects how I speak in life.  I often stop midsentence and pose my question differently or redirect my thought.  My IRL dialogue is very . . . disjointed . . . . jumpy . . . .emotionally charged . . . . passionate.)

And so . . . because I still plan on being me . . . and I haven’t barfed my thoughts on you in about two weeks, I figured it was time to begin some dialogue.

Some realness.

Except, it will be one-sided.  Until you respond.  (By the way, PLEASE log in to DISQUE so that you receive my comments back to you.) Or you blog about it.

My questions will be simple.  But simple questions aren’t always easy to answer.

I’m warning you.

These will be questions to further draw you into a community.  A fellowship.

You don’t have to be a certain sex, race, or religiosity to answer my questions.  But you do have to be respectful and clean.

Some people who respond you may actually know in-real-life (IRL). Some you may meet at a blogging conference.  Some may be your connection to the adult world  while you are surrounded by children from 8am – 6pm.

Real people.  Real questions.  Because I am curious.

I’m open to hear what questions you would like me to ask and have answered by myself and others.

Hint, hint:  this would be a good time for the Hottie to make a guest appearance.  What questions would you like to ask him?

But for now . . . question #1:  What make believe games did you play when you were a child?

I’ll tell you about mine on Thursday.  (It’s pathetic.  Really pathetic.)

Potential future questions:

  • What is your favorite childhood vacation?
  • Where do you blog?
  • When did you first have coffee and why?
  • Why do you blog?
  • Who is Jesus?
  • Why do you like your favorite pair of jeans?
