Every 4th of July is a Party

I know what I am going to be doing every 4th of July for approximately the next 15 years or so.

I will be celebrating Mr. Me-Too's birthday.

It really is a great day to have a birthday. Most everyone has the day off, and there is always a party going on. The day is completed with hundreds of heavenly candles lighting up the sky.

Mr. Me-Too helped prepare for his party. This was his first time to lick the batter. We made 60 slightly altered, healthy cupcakes with cream cheese icing.
His Mama and Papa gave him a horse for his swing set. Upon opening his trusty stead, he exclaimed, "Look at 'dat!" However, he had no idea what it was at the time--only that it was red.
For breakfast, he enjoyed his cupcake. It was his birthday. We decided to live large.
My favorite present that we gave him, was this great stacking/sorting/pattern making wood toy from Melissa and Doug. All three of the boys have really enjoyed playing with it. It doesn't hurt that it is educational, at the same time! Shh! Don't tell them that!
And this . . . is all of our family and our home fellowship. We served brunch, complete with whole wheat pancakes, organic strawberry sauce, maple syrup, egg casserole, skillet potatoes, and turkey sausage. The logistics of serving that many people pancakes was a tad bit frightening. But thankfully, I borrowed 3 griddles and it went quick. I believe we cooked over 100 pancakes!
The birthday boy was very happy with his meal.
His Nana and Mops got him a Flying Turtle. Way fun toy. It requires kid batteries and those you can recharge with a good night's sleep and healthy food!

Happy Birthday, my precious firecracker 3 year old! I love you!
